Solas Fundraiser: Bag Packing in Super Value Dungloe
Solas participants were delighted to hear of the funds raised at a recent bag-pack in Super Value Dungloe.
A huge thanks from everyone here in Solas to the students in Rosses Community School who along with Bernard, Bernie, Blaihnaid and Murt raised funds packing bags in Super Value Dungloe on Friday March 1st 2013. Thanks to their muintir Mr. Joe Kelly for co-ordinating the students. Last but not least, thanks to Anne and the staff at Super Value Dungloe.
As one fundraiser put it:
‘’… it makes it so much easier to raise money when the cashier asks the shopper if they want a hand with packing their bags…’’
It’s a simple enough comment to make and the shop assistant might not have even passed any heed to what she was saying but to those packing bags it really helped on the day.
With all this talk of recessions, austerity, budgeting, household and water charges its just amazing what a gang of eager students and some willing participants can get done in one day.
So thanks again to all who helped and donated.
The next bag pack fundraiser will be in 2014.
